About the Role

A Sales Engineer will provide sales and technical engineering support to our clients and other prospective customers. As part of the Sales Team, they will ensure that we provide the most effective, efficient, and cost-winning solutions to our customers, and ensure that we secure the winning bid. The Sales Engineer will be trained and expected to focus on selling and supporting our customers on Variable Frequency Drives, Softstarters, and Motor Controllers. All while also being knowledgeable and capable of selling and providing technical support on our other products and solutions.

As a member of the sales team, they are also responsible for being the face of the company, and they may do everything from answering phone calls to monitoring our competition, all while maintaining good customer relations and pursuing new sales opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer will be assuming a role that will be composed of 80% sales activities, and 20% engineering activities.


Sales-related responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
  • Searching and reaching out to prospects to introduce our company and build a relationship with them. This can be done by making cold calls, emails, making visits, etc.

  • Monitoring their position and relationships with their contacts, and following up several times throughout the sales cycle to ensure that their contacts’ needs are being met.

  • Presenting and demonstrating the value of products and services to prospective buyers. This includes setting meetings with clients and preparing the necessary documents and materials.

  • Building long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external contacts and internal departments to create a better customer experience.

  • Handling complaints and negotiations, and attending to customer concerns and queries by accommodating them and referring them to the necessary people to address their problems.

  • Preparing proposals for the sales of products and/or services, in coordination with the engineering team and purchasing.

  • Coordinating with customers regarding updates on project/ delivery schedules.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Engineering-related responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
  • Performing site inspections to help identify current/ upcoming and future customer needs and requirements.

  • Preparing Bill of Quantities, Purchase Requests, and technical drawings in relation to their client requirements.

  • Discussing equipment needs and service requirements with customers and engineers.

  • Supporting the sales team in further understanding the technical nature of customer requirements.

  • Providing technical knowledge and demonstrations in cost reductions and operational improvements brought about by our products and solutions.

  • Providing occasional technical support onsite during activities such as testing and commissioning, energization, etc.

  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations explaining our products and services to existing and prospective customers.

Requirements

Background

  • Must have accomplished a Bachelor’s Degree in either Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Must have a Driver’s License

The ideal candidate is capable of:

  • Meeting sales goals

  • Negotiating and closing deals, and winning bids

  • Identifying and approaching viable prospects for sales

  • Carrying themselves with confidence and effectively communicating the value of our products and solutions to our stakeholders

  • Being an expert of the technical background of their focus products, and being familiar with our other products and solutions

  • Having excellent knowledge of design and visualizations softwares such as AutoCAD

  • Advanced MS Office Skills
