We are proud to announce that our team of engineers at Optimum Electrokonsult Inc. has successfully completed the installation of 54 digital power meters at CDO Foodsphere, one of the leading food companies in the Philippines. This project is part of our mission to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions for energy management and optimization.
Choosing the right Power Meter
Digital power meters are devices that measure and monitor the electrical parameters of a power system, such as voltage, current, power, energy, frequency, and power factor. They can communicate with other devices and systems through various protocols, depending on the model.
For this project, we used the PM2130 model, which can only communicate through Modbus, a serial communication protocol that is widely used in industrial applications
Modbus allows the digital power meters to send and receive data from a central monitoring system or a computer. Digital power meters can help improve the efficiency, reliability, and safety of the power system, as well as reduce energy costs and carbon footprint.
Our engineers have installed digital power meters at various locations within the CDO Foodsphere plant, such as the production area, the cold storage, the warehouse, and the office building.
Integrating Digital Power Meters into the Network for Enhanced Monitoring
These newly installed power meters will be networked in the next phase of the project. Which will involve configuring the devices to communicate with a central monitoring system that can display and analyze the data collected by the meters. This system will help CDO Foodsphere track and optimize its energy consumption, identify potential problems, and implement preventive measures.
